When we asked Handy Cane customers to share how they are using the Handy Cane reaching grabber, we got some pretty cool answers!
Kay H. from Newport Richey, Florida told us “My friend got her groove back!”
“I really didn’t need a cane for walking, but, after reading the reviews on Amazon, I bought the Handy Cane for the grabber alone. I use it to reach all kinds of things on the top shelves of my closets. My husband uses it in the garage where he has a workshop. With the Handy Cane, everything on the racks and shelves, and even the occasional nut or bolt that rolls under the workbench is easy to reach and grab.
But the most wonderful thing is, we have a close neighbor who needs to be in a wheelchair most of the time. I thought the Handy Cane would be great for her, so we bought her one too. I can’t tell you how happy she is to have the Handy Cane. She says she doesn’t have to ask for help doing everyday things anymore and that “she got her groove back!” I had no idea what a difference it would make for her. I’m so pleased.”
Geri S. from Hackensack, NJ said, “I feel self sufficient and independent.”
“Before I had the Handy Cane, I had an unfortunate incident. I dropped my keys while I was opening my car door. I was afraid I would fall if I bent down to pick them up, so I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to help me. It was unsettling, to say the least. Now, with the Handy Cane, I can pick up my own keys or anything else I need, any time, without any help. The Handy Cane makes me feel self sufficient and independent. To me, that is the best feeling in the world.”
Michelle R. from Phoenix, AZ says, “Less bending, more doing.”
“Before I bought the Handy Cane, I had a grabber for every room in my home, but I wasn’t able to pick up or reach all of the things I needed. My old grabbers either weren’t strong enough, or didn’t open wide enough to pick up larger things like a can of tomato sauce or a bottle of olive oil from my kitchen cabinet. Now, I always keep my Handy Cane with me, so I can use the grabber to reach and pick up anything and everything. In the laundry room, I use the Handy Cane to grab clothes to put in the washer. I can even grab the occasional sock that falls between the machines. To me, the Handy Cane means ‘less bending, more doing’!”
Vic D. from Boston, Massachusetts says, “How do you like them apples?”
“I take my Handy Cane everywhere I go for the everyday stuff, like climbing stairs, support while walking and reaching items in the grocery store. One day last fall I went apple picking with my family. I thought I’d just sit and enjoy the beautiful New Hampshire scenery, but I was able to walk out into the orchard with my family and use the Handy Cane grasper to pick apples right from the trees. My grandson had fun trying it too. How do you like them apples?!”
Jokester, Alan G. from Los Angeles, CA says:
“I use my Handy Cane grabber to fight off zombies.”
Great imagination, Alan. We think you’ve seen too many episodes of the Walking Dead! But, in case there is a zombie apocalypse, now you know you can use your Handy Cane to fend them off. We’re just saying…
